Vice-Admiral Ulrich Weisser served more then forty years in the German Armed Forces.
A former Commanding Officer of a Mine Sweeper Coastal, he has held several prominent appointments including member of the Policy Advisory Group to the German Minister of Defence; German Representative to the Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic; Military Assistant to the Federal Chancellor; Director of Policy and Strategy at the German General Staff College; Chief of Staff and Deputy Military Representative NATO Military Committee; and Director Plans and Policy and Chief of the Political Advisory Group to the German Minister of Defence.
During his distinguished career Vice-Admiral Weisser has made significant contributions in shaping German Defence and Security Policy and is still active as a respected advisor to governments and industry.
Throughout his different appointments and during his retirement Admiral Weisser has published extensively on Defence Policy, Strategy, Naval Matters as well as European and transatlantic procurement co-operation in German, English and American publications and is the author of five books.
