Sam Nunn is the co-chairman and chief executive officer of the Nuclear Threat Initiative. He represented the State of Georgia for 24 years in the U.S. Senate where he served as the Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee. Included in his legislative achievements is the Nunn-Lugar Cooperative Threat Reduction Program which provides assistance in securing and dismantling excess nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons in Russia and the former Soviet republics.
Senator Nunn serves as a distinguished professor at the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech University and on the board of the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
