Nadezhda Neynsky

Former Foreign Minister, Politician, and Diplomat

Nadezhda Neynsky is a distinguished diplomat and politician with a remarkable career. She served as Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Turkey from 2015 to 2021 and, more recently, was a member of the 2022/23 Cohort of the Advance Leadership Initiative at Harvard.

Mrs Neynsky served as Deputy Speaker of the Bulgarian Parliament from 2008-2009, where she was elected as a member of the 37th, 38th, 39th, and 40th National Assembly. Previously, Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1997 to 2001; Chairperson of the party Union of Democratic Forces and Parliamentary Group from 2002 to 2005; Member of the European Parliament 2009 to 2014; and President of SME Europe from 2012 to 2015.

Nadezhda Neynsky’s academic journey includes a Master’s degree from Harvard University and linguistic studies at Sofia University. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Russian, she has received many prestigious awards such as the Chevalier de la Legion D’Honneur.
