Maïlys Mangin is a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer at the Centre Interdisciplinaire sur les Enjeux Stratégiques (CIENS) within the École Normale Supérieure de Paris. She has a PhD in political science; her dissertation, defended in 2022, focused on the role of the IAEA in international policies to combat proliferation in Iraq and Iran. Between 2020 and 2022, she was a Research Fellow with the project on ‘Managing The Atom’ at the Harvard Kennedy School, Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, and Associate the project on ‘Managing The Atom’ from 2022 to 2023.

She was awarded the “Prix de thèse 2022-2023” by Presses du Septentrion, which will publish her dissertation next year, and the “Prix de thèse (special mention) 2023” by the French Association for War and Strategy Studies (AEGES).

Before joining CIENS, she was a post-doctoral researcher at the Centre de recherche de l’Ecole de l’Air, working on a research project (ANR ASTRID-CIGAIA) on the study of controversies in the context of the War in Ukraine and their impact on the conflict, based on the development of an Artificial Intelligence algorithm.
