Jonas Schneider

Dr Jonas Schneider is a Researcher in the International Security at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin where he focuses on nuclear non-proliferation, disarmament, deterrence and export controls. Before joining the SWP he worked as a Senior Researcher at the Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zürich. He holds a PhD from the University of Kiel in Germany.

His recent publications in English include: Beyond Assurance and Coercion: US Alliances and the Psychology of Nuclear Reversal (Security Studies, February 2021) Predicting nuclear weapons proliferation (Chapter in “The Politics and Science of Prevision. Governing and Probing the Future”, 2020).

Redesigning nuclear arms control for new realities
