Ambassador Jaakko Iloniemi is a former Finnish diplomat.
Between 1965 and 1971 he served as Head of Department for Development Cooperation in the Finnish Foreign Service. He was then promoted to Undersecretary for Political Affairs and was also appointed as Ambassador to the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE) as well as the Finnish Ambassador to the United States.
Mr. Iloniemi has been awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the White Rose of Finland for his foreign policy achievements and was Chancellor of the Order from 1997 until 2004.
