Gianfranco Fini is an Italian politician and the former President of the Chamber of Deputies (2008-2013). He held the post of Deputy Prime Minister from June 2001 until May 2006, and Minister for Foreign Affairs from November 2004 until May 2006.
In 1983, Fini was elected to the Chamber of Deputies. From December 1987 to January 1990 he was National Secretary of the Italian Social Movement (MSI-DN). He was then elected to the European Parliament in 1994. From 1995 until 2009 he was Leader of the National Alliance party. From 2010 to 2013, he led the centre-right Future and Freedom party.
