Gaukhar Mukhatzhanova is Director of the International Organizations and Nonproliferation Program of the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS), currently based at the Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (VCDNP). Her research interests include international non-proliferation organisations and regimes, international non-proliferation and disarmament negotiations and the role of cross-regional coalitions, nuclear-weapon-free zones, and proliferation theory. Ms Mukhatzhanova served as an expert on the delegation of Kazakhstan to the 2010 Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference and the delegation of Chile to the 2015 NPT Review Conference. Ms Mukhatzhanova is a principal author of a series of CNS reports monitoring implementation of the 2010 NPT Action Plan.
