Eleonora Neri

Project & Research Coordinator at the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA).

Eleonora Neri is deeply dedicated to the pursuit of international peace and security, with a wealth of practical experience in the field of non-proliferation and disarmament.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Advanced International Studies from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, complemented by dual Bachelor’s Degrees in International Relations and Management from Webster University.

Eleonora has gained invaluable insights and expertise through her roles at prominent institutions such as the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the Permanent Mission of Japan, the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), the Alva Myrdal Centre for Nuclear Disarmament at the Uppsala University and currently at the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA).

In her unwavering commitment to fostering positive change, Eleonora has been an active member of the CTBTO Youth Group since 2017. Through this platform, she has consistently worked to raise global awareness about the critical importance of the nuclear-test-ban.

The CTBT: A success story and keystone for reinforcing the NPT regime ahead of the next 2026 NPT Review Conference

Despite not yet entering into force, the CTBT has seen some remarkable successes in establishing a global norm against nuclear testing and a robust verification system. However, rising geopolitical tensions underscore the urgent need for full ratification. Eleonora Neri of the Younger Generation Leaders Network (YGLN) argues for states to redouble efforts to universalise the Treaty and reinforce global non-proliferation commitments.
