David Wright is Co-Director and Senior Scientist in the Global Security Program at the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS). He received his Ph.D. in theoretical condensed matter physics from Cornell University in 1983, and worked as a research physicist until 1988. Prior to coming to UCS in 1992, he was a Fellow in the Center for Science and International Affairs in the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard (1988-90), and a Senior Analyst at the Federation of American Scientists (1990-2).
