Dr Anita Orbán is the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, elected in 2026. Prior to this, she served as a foreign policy adviser for the TISZA Party.
Orban has held numerous roles, including External Affairs Director at Vodafone, London. She was Vice President for International Affairs at Tellurian LNG from 2017 – 2020, and Chief Advisor at Cheniere Marketing Ltd.
Between 2010 and 2015, Dr Orbán served as Hungary’s Ambassador-at-Large for Energy Security. Before that, she served as Director of the Constellation Energy Institute, a think tank facilitating cooperation in the Central Eastern European energy sector.
She is the author of Power, Energy, and the New Russian Imperialism (CT: Praeger, 2008). She was awarded Woman Executive of the Year at the Energy Awards in 2018. She is on the European Advisory Board of the Fletcher School and is Chairwoman of the International Advisory Board of the Regional Centre for Energy Policy Research (REKK).
She earned her PhD from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Boston in 2007, alongside a Master’s in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School and a Master’s in History from Tufts University. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Economic Sciences in Budapest in 1997.
