Amélie is currently serving as Senior Humanitarian Officer at the EU Delegation to the UN. Her work focuses on humanitarian crises in Africa and Asia, as well as key UN policy areas such as the protection of civilians, international humanitarian law, food security, children in emergencies, localization initiatives, and forced displacement, in close collaboration with UN agencies, NGOs, and humanitarian partners.
Previously, she was the Senior Coordination and Outreach Officer in the Coordination Team of the EU Head of Delegation. In that role, she represented the EU and its 27 Member States in negotiations on UN reform and resolutions aimed at strengthening multilateralism, focusing on peace and security, sustainable development, and human rights.
Prior, Amélie served as a Senior Humanitarian Adviser in the Security Council Team at the Swiss Mission to the UN for a year. Before that, she was a Policy Officer at the German Mission to the UN for over three years during Germany’s term as a non-permanent member of the Security Council (2019-2020), focusing on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) and Children and Armed Conflict (CAAC).
Before moving to New York, she worked with the German Development Program (GIZ) in Ethiopia and Djibouti for a year. She holds a MA from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and a BA from the University of Constance.
