At the 2025 NPT PrepCom, the European Leadership Network (ELN) convened experts and officials to explore practical steps for strengthening the treaty, including reducing nuclear risks and addressing emerging technologies.

From the 11-14th of November, the Younger Generation Leaders Network (YGLN) met in Vienna for their annual gathering. Over the course of the week, YGLN members met with various international organisations and diplomatic missions, fostered insightful discussions, and were able to network and collaborate with one another. From 11-12 November 2024, the European Leadership Network (ELN), as a Core Partner to the Expert Network on the OSCE, brought eight members of the ELN’s contingent of OSCE Expert Network to Vienna for their Annual Meeting.
On the 29th and 30th of October 2024, the ELN convened a two-day workshop as part of its project, “Simulating Technological Complexity & Advancing Risk Reduction”, to explore how experimental AI-driven prototypes might enhance decision-making and reduce risks associated with Emerging and Disruptive Technologies in the nuclear domain.

Join the ELN at the 2024 PrepCom for two side events tackling the role and salience of nuclear weapons and guardrails for emerging and disruptive technologies
On 10th-11th April 2024, the ELN convened a group of diverse experts for a workshop at the German Federal Foreign Office to consider the core ingredients of a guardrails and checklist framework that will help policymakers anticipate and address challenges arising from Emerging and Disruptive Technologies (EDTs) and their aggregate effects on nuclear command, control, and communications (NC3) and nuclear weapons decision-making.
